چکیده

This paper presents the Customisable Modular Platform (CMP) approach. The aim is to accelerate FPGA application development by raising the level of abstraction and facilitating design reuse. The solution is based on network of Nodes, communicating using packetbased protocol. The approach is illustrated using SoftSONIC, a CMP for video applications. Our approach promotes modularity and design reuse by having multiple interoperable layers of design abstraction, while supporting advanced development and verification methods such as mixedabstraction execution and efficient system-level simulation based on Transaction Level Modelling. The platform provides domain-specific abstractions and customisations of various elements such as communication protocols and topology, enabling exploitation of data locality and fineand coarse-grain parallelism. The benefits of our approach is demonstrated using SoftSONIC for development of several real-time HDTV video processing applications.

HW/SW Co-design of Real-time Video Applications Using a Custom Configurable Prototyping Platform

In this paper, a modular, configurable and versatile prototype platform for real-time video and image processing is presented. Based on the FPGA technology and a RISC softcore processor for data processing, the platform supports simultaneous HW/SW co-design and partitioning. This reduces application design cycle and shortens design iterations, especially considering the later design steps. As e...

iGenomicViewer: R package for visualisation of high dimension genomic data

While the technologies for high dimensional data have been advancing, a lack of adequate visualisation tools to accommodate the results and inability to integrate multiple sources of data has emerged. The move towards multi-disciplinary work and collaborative research impresses the need for visualisation and analysis tools that are platform independent and customisable. iGenomicViewer through t...

A Novel Hybrid-Excited Modular Variable Reluctance Motor for Electric Vehicle Applications: Analysis, Comparison, and Implementation

A variable reluctance machine (VRM) has been proven to be an outstanding candidate for electric vehicle (EV) applications. This paper introduces a new double-stator, 12/14/12-pole three-phase hybrid-excited modular variable reluctance machine (MVRM) for EV applications. In order to demonstrate the superiorities of the proposed structure, the static torque characteristics and dynamic performance...

A Novel Approach to Background Subtraction Using Visual Saliency Map

Generally human vision system searches for salient regions and movements in video scenes to lessen the search space and effort. Using visual saliency map for modelling gives important information for understanding in many applications. In this paper we present a simple method with low computation load using visual saliency map for background subtraction in video stream. The proposed technique i...

Fixed point theorem for non-self mappings and its applications in the modular ‎space

‎In this paper, based on [A. Razani, V. Rako$check{c}$evi$acute{c}$ and Z. Goodarzi, Nonself mappings in modular spaces and common fixed point theorems, Cent. Eur. J. Math. 2 (2010) 357-366.] a fixed point theorem for non-self contraction mapping $T$ in the modular space $X_rho$ is presented. Moreover, we study a new version of Krasnoseleskii's fixed point theorem for $S+T$, where $T$ is a cont...
